World Cup – Final

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Now that Argentina and USA are out of the World Cup iSource Digital has turned to less conventional means of deciding who to cheer for in the Final. A German Octopus has predicted the last four games correctly, Germany over Argentina, Germany over England, Serbia over Germany and Spain over Germany.

Drum roll please! The Great Octo-picker’s choice for the final game is in and the winner will be: Spain! As for the third place game the Octo-picker used its great powers to push for its nation’s team, Germany to beat Uruguay.

So, there you have it, folks! Spain and Germany will be the victors for first and third place, and if not Mr. Octo-Picker has some major explaining to do!

World Cup Recap 4

Monday, June 28th, 2010

This weekend was bittersweet for iSource Digital. With the USA being ousted by Ghana we turn to our other favorite team, Argentina. Winning in convincing fashion yet again, it looks as though Argentina is still an obvious favorite to win the Cup.

Argentina had their first and third goals scored by young superstar, Carlos Tevez. Their second goal was scored by Gonzalo Higuain, making him the leading scorer in the 2010 World Cup thus far.

Argentina will face Germany, a very formidable opponent, on Saturday. Argentina’s high flying offense will look to continue working its magic against Germany’s physical defense.

With Brazil on the opposite side of the bracket it is exciting to look forward to the final, which is looking more and more like it could be Brazil vs. Argentina.

Go Argentina!

Let us know who your favorite team is now that USA is out in the “comments” section below.

World Cup Recap #3

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

We have advanced to the round of 16! The World Cup TrophyArgentina, as expected, advanced to the round of 16, while the United States had to fight for 90 hard minutes before they scored the goal that would advance them to the next round.
After a lot of defense and missed opportunities, Argentina took form, scoring two goals in the last 15 minutes against Greece. It is amazing that Argentina is handling opponents so easily and still hasn’t had a goal from their star, Lionel Messi. Messi hasn’t disappointed, though his presence wreaks havoc on opponent’s defense, with two and even three defenders marking him at all times the rest of the field is left wide open. It will be interesting to see what Mexico will do against this team’s crazy offense.
The United States nearly missed the next round in heart breaking fashion. Having yet another goal called back early in the first half, it seemed as though the U.S. were going to end in a draw and not advance, but out of nowhere, Landon Donovan saved the day! (more…)

World Cup Recap #2

I’m still trying to figure out what the call was on that third US goal! I know the Argentina game played yesterday and you all want updates on that, but come on how terrible was the officiating of the USA game?!

Not only did we have a goal called back, but we also had Findley get his second yellow card of the tourney, forcing him to sit the next game. The yellow card was on an alleged hand ball in the box, but the ball hit him in the face, not hand! (more…)

Interning – The Big Move

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

We had a very busy week last week. I got to write FAQ questions and auto response emails for a huge client, not to mention all the work I’m putting into the World Cup. I mean, I’m forced to watch all these crazy sweet World Cup games so I can keep up with writing the World Cup blog.

The idea behind the World Cup blog is cool. Since we have offices in the US and offices in Argentina we have quite the rivalry between employees. The World Cup blog gives us the opportunity to give you our agency’s feedback and reactions to our team’s games, crazy goals and the occasional keeper slip up. Another cool feature of our blog is any news or complaints about the vuvuzela horns that ESPN and ABC are making a huge deal about will not be read in our World Cup blog. I mean we’re so anti anti-vuvuzela that one of the World Cup blog logos we created has vuvuzelas in it.

Besides the busy work week I was also busy moving. I’m very happy to say that I am out of my jail cell apartment and into a much nicer place. The move didn’t come without some major hassles, though. I got everything loaded into my car and made my way to the new place.

As I get within two blocks of my place I realize I don’t have any groceries, luckily, just as I realize I won’t have any food to eat I see a grocery store. The store is on the left hand side of the road, and since Florida loves making you do U turns instead of being able to make a left turn, I had to go up to an intersection and take a U-ey. Sadly, I drastically underestimated the U turn, probably because all the stuff in my car blocking my vision, and I crushed my passenger side tire into the curb! Causing a blow out, which in turn, caused the pedestrians at the intersection to point and laugh at me (insert sad smiley face here). (more…)

World Cup Recap #1

It’s time for iSource Digital’s first World Cup recap!

The first game of the Cup featured South Africa versus Mexico, with South Africa scoring the first goal of the event. It was a thrill to watch the host country celebrate the first goal. Although South Africa had the fans and momentum, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. (more…)

We know that no matter what country you’re cheering for in the World Cup this event is something that is looked forward to around the globe, so iSource Digital is getting geared up for the event! The iSource Digital website will have a World Cup theme throughout the event, and this blog will have exclusive agency post game thoughts, feelings and maybe even some smack talk.

Thursday is the opening ceremonies and Friday has the first matches, which include the host country, South Africa vs. Mexico. Saturday brings the matches iSource Digital has been holding its collective breath for, Argentina vs. Nigeria and England vs. United States.

Here at iSource Digital we share the passion for our teams, the passion for the World Cup and most of all the passion for soccer. Stop by our blog throughout the World Cup to get our post game thoughts and reactions (and maybe even some trash talk between our Argentina and USA fans).
